Growling sound from the front end

I’ve got a sound coming from the front end of my car. It’s been getting louder and louder. It’s kind of a growling sound. Do you have any idea what it might be?

What’s the vehicle? 1993 Toyota Paseo

Does the sound get louder going around corners or curves? Yes, right hand turning off ramps, the cloverleaf type, it makes worse noise, but turning left it quiets down.

Diagnosis by phone: I would have to guess that it would be the wheel bearing, but a quick test drive and jacking it up should give us a 100% diagnosis.

Final diagnosis: The quick test drive proved that all the symptoms were definitely pointing to the wheel bearing being bad. Pull it in the garage and jack it up. Yes, there is a significant amount of play in the wheel assembly.

Solution: Check back we’ll post the results of replacing the wheel bearing and seals.
